Mystic Seaport The Museum of
America and the Sea is the nations leading maritime museum. Located just
of I-95 between Boston and New York in Mystic, Connecticut, the Museum features
a 19th century seafaring village with tall ships, nearly 40 historic buildings,
dynamic exhibits and Americas first preservation shipyard, all covering 17
acres of public space. Visitors can sail r row exact replicas of traditional
wooden boats, cruise in an antique steamboat, star gaze in the planetarium, help
set a sail, walk by beautiful riverfront gardens or watch demonstrations of life
and activity in the 19th century seafaring village. A trained staff is always
available to answer questions, demonstrate traditions and share stories. In
addition, the Museum Store is well known for its unusual collections and
features the nations most complete collection of current books on all things

750 acres include the college campus, plant collections, natural areas, and
managed areas. Its three major plants collections for public enjoyment are the
Campus Landscape with 120 acres of trees and shrubs from around the world; the
Native Plant collection, with 20 acres of woody plants and wildflowers
indigenous to North America with a pond, and walking trails; Caroline Black
Garden with an exquisite display of diverse woody plants in a garden setting.
